View source for Moderation

You can help improve the [[build]]ing community by becoming a moderator of new games! Check the "Moderate" box on the [[You]] page to reveal a new "Influence" heading on the very bottom of the [[Arcade]] page. Once you press the button in there, unreviewed games are revealed, where you decide whether a game should be approved or not. This is done on the basis of whether the game violates the [https://fancade.com/terms Terms of Use]. If you are unsure, you can ask other people via [[Discord]], or simply avoid reviewing. But to continue please read the [[rules]].

If you choose to approve a project, the fields are as follows:

* '''Category''': This is where you indicate what type of project you are reviewing. Usually the project will not explicitly state its own type. Use your judgement to allocate a category. If there isn't one which stands out, choose "None". Again, if unsure, you can ask or avoid reviewing.
* '''Quality''': This is where you rate the quality of the game. 1 indicates a project (anything from a game, demo, [[kit]], script) that is very bad, 5 indicates a project that is very good. This rating is entirely up to your own judgement.

If you choose to reject a project, the fields are as follows:

* '''Reason''': This is where you state the reason of your rejection decision:
** "Cursing" pertains to any common swear words (if you're unsure if a word is a sufficiently bad curse word, you may ask).
** Offensive material constitutes anything which may be seen as harassment to a certain individual or group (e.g. racism, sexism, gore, mocking a certain user, and so on).
** "Spam" pertains to a game that is either direct plagiarism of another Fancade project (usually game), a mediocre knock-off of another game, or the same game reposted. Note that an updated version of a pre-existing game, or a 2nd installment of a game series does not necessarily fall under this rule.
** If none of the above applies, but you still believe that rejection is necessary, then select "Other".
* '''Place''': This is where you indicate where exactly the issue is; what made you reject the game. If a title has a swear word, choose "Title"; if the description insults someone, select "Description"; and so on. If none of the above applies, select "Other"

Additional information:

* You need to sign in to a [[Fancade]] account to review games.
* Your vote will not be the final decision. Thus a game isn't automatically rejected or accepted after your review.
* You can't review your own games.
* When reviewing a game, try to also think from the perspective of a child. A project that may be tolerable to you may not be suited for a younger user.
