Descent by james1236 is an obstacle avoidance game where a white arrow has to travel down a level while avoiding various squares and pillars.

How to play

You begin on the right hand side of your screen, heading left, while descending as the name of the game implies. To switch direction, tap the screen. Rather than making a curved turn like in Rally Legend, the arrow turns abruptly in a zig zag pattern.
Each stage spans 500 points. The first and last 75 points (0-75, 425-500, 500-575, etc) are free of any obstacles. In between, you are met with two obstacles, pillars and squares. Touching them will cause an immediate game over.
Pillars appear at either end of the side walls. Sometimes they are static, and sometimes they move left and right. Squares appear in clusters of circular rings, with a bunch of squares all rotating in the same circular orbit. There are either large squares or small squares, and can rotate either clockwise or anticlockwise. Small square rings do not appear by themselves, but rather are stacked on top of large square rings, making any stage much more difficult. Different stages also have different levels of zoom; where sometimes you have a bigger field of view and a slower feeling, and sometimes a zoomed in map where the arrow seems to go faster.
For scores below 3000, the difficulty doesn't increase with the score. The first 500 will always only ever have large square rings, however every other stage can be of any difficulty. After a score of 3000, the game rapidly speeds up, further adding to difficulty.

Strategy

If you are used to games where you go upwards and have obstacles falling down, then flip your screen upside down while playing the game.
