Pigments by nmskr is a match game where you have to find 2 or more pieces of the same color or shape together (horizontally, vertically, or both; but not diagonally) to remove them from the board. The game shows you which piece you are supposed to remove, alongside the next 2 pieces. The more pieces you eliminate the higher the score. For example:
2 pieces cleared - 10 score
3 pieces cleared - 15 score
4 pieces cleared - 40 score
5 pieces cleared - 50 score
6 pieces cleared - 60 score
7 pieces cleared - 70 score
The scores increase at an even greater rate with more pieces (15 per piece with 9 pieces cleared, for example).
However, you may find yourself in a situation where you cannot find any combination for the required piece. In this situation, you are forced to find a match of the incorrect colour, and doing so will decrease your score by the same amount as mentioned above.
All of this happens under a timed environment. There is a timer decreasing constantly, and you lose the game when the timer runs out. A successful match will increase the time left; and a larger combo of pieces will increase the time left by a larger amount. The timer gets faster as the game goes on.
There are two levels, Pigments and Pigmentless. Pigments (also the version which is in Battle), has different colours (orange, yellow, pink, blue, and green). Pigmentless is the same game, but only the shapes inside the piece are visible (all coloured white inside of dark grey boxes). Most people find Pigmentless to be much more difficult.

Strategy

If you're stuck, try to find the smallest incorrect combination. Sometimes hitting the incorrect colour is better than taking a long time to find the correct one.
