Railgunner

Railgunner by Martin Magni is a game where you have to shoot as much enemy ships as possible without getting shot by missing.

How to Play

Enemy ships try to approch and shoot you in random direction, and you will automatically aim at the ships. Tap to shoot. You only have 5 bullets AND you need to shoot the 5th ship to refill the bullets, meaning you cannot miss at all. If an enemy ship gets too close to you, it will shoot you and the game is over. The score is counted on how many ships are shot.

Strategy

  • Since enemy ships are randomly placed, this game requires quick reflexes. Here's an article on how to improve your reflexes
  • Shoot the enemy ships in order of proximity to you.
  • Have your hand close to the screen and watch very carefully to align your shot with the next oncoming enemy ship (be careful to watch the area which is obscured by your hand.
  • If multiple enemy ships are present, plan out a sequence of shots rather than approaching them one by one.
  • Portrait is recommended, but may not make a significant difference.
  • If your ship is turning anticlockwise, and enemy ships spawn from a clockwise position, you can wait for the ship to steer clockwise before shooting. This can be useful as the rate of turning is lowest at that point, allowing a more stable aim.
  • The flash from shooting an enemy down can be rather distracting, particularly when in a darkly lit room. Thus a well lit room may aid concentration.
