Battle
Battle is Fancade's way to making games competitive. Do your absolute best and try to not fail those challenges and win crowns to be on the top of the arena!
In this mode you're greeted with 8 random scores to attempt to beat. Tap the play button corresponding to a match you want to see those games. There are new special things in the battle that are never seen in normal gameplay:
- New boxart for these games
- A new point system (Crowns)
- Limited attempts at games AND an actual failure condition officially set by the game.
Mechanics
Select a game and tap Play. Note that you are forced to play it and must beat the score set by your opponent in 3 attempts. If the game happens to have a shop system, you can upgrade certain attributes after an attempt, regardless of whether you won or lost. You cannot upgrade without committing a battle first. You may also watch advertisements to increase total coin count to facilitate an upgrade, or spend gems. The game makes sure if you want to quit.
You win the battle if you manage to tie or beat the opponent's score. Crowns will be added. If you fail by either loss in 3 attempts, or pressing the Back button, crowns are deducted, and could possibly fall back into the previous arena.
The amount of crowns deducted is the difference between 20 and the potential crowns gained. If you can win 7 crowns from a battle, you will lose 13 if you fail to beat your opponent.
After a game is played, a cooldown appears for the next game. You can spend gems to play it immediately.
Alternatively, you can skip a game by selecting it and pressing Skip. This also requires you to spend gems.
A progress bar shows how far you are from reaching the next arena. Each crown corresponds to 1% completion of an arena. By reaching a certain number of crowns (100, 200, etc; up until 2400), you move onto the next arena, and unlock more games.
The amount of crowns you receive from a battle does not depend on the score of the player but rather their total crown amount at the time of playing. Thus, 2 identical scores in any given game may have completely different crown amounts associated with them. As you rank up, your matches will yield diminishing returns for crowns, and at the very high level, certain battles may yield 0 crowns for a victory.
